John Colson has been President and CEO of Quanta Services since its inception in 1997. With experience in every aspect of electrical contracting, John provides the vision that guides the company’s growth as a complete source for all network infrastructure contracting services for the electric power, gas, telecommunications and broadband cable industries. Before spearheading the creation of Quanta Services, John had a 27-year career at PAR Electrical Contractors, Inc., a builder of high-voltage transmission lines, distribution lines, substations and related electric utility infrastructure. As President and owner of PAR, John was instrumental in the company’s decision to participate in the founding of Quanta Services.

John holds numerous business and civic positions, including: Governor of the Missouri Valley Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors’ Association; Regent, Electrical Contracting Association; Panel member of the Council of Industrial Relations, Washington, D.C.; Member, National Labor-Management Cooperation Committee; Director, U.S. Concrete, Inc., and Director, Missouri Valley Apprenticeship and Training Program.
