Natural gas in this country has assumed far more importance in the last few years. Not only do we need an estimated 38,000 miles of transmission and 263,000 miles of distribution pipelines, projections indicate that consumption should increase by 50% over the next two decades. Much of this capacity will go to feed cleaner electric power plants.
