350kV Overhead High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Transmission Line

The project was 1,092 km in length, connecting the Muskrat Falls Generating Facility in central Labrador to Soldiers Pond on Newfoundland’s Avalon Peninsula.

 

 

  • 3,223 towers installed – including 2,841 guyed structures & 382 self-supporting structures
  • 8,667,616 bolts were used to install 34,093 metric tons of steel
  • Crews installed 4,369 foundations and 11,364 anchors
  • The total length of conductor installed was 2,964.4 km
  • There were 1,446 staff working on the project for a total of 4,172,806 labor hours
