At Quanta, safety is not just a philosophy – it is our core value. Our core business is executing construction and EPC projects, and our mission is focusing on performing the work safely. Our duty is to complete each and every project incident- and injury-free. Quanta’s management team creates a culture in which all employees have the opportunity and duty to take ownership for their safety and the safety of their coworkers. Our goal is a workforce that is focused on safety 24/7, at home and at work.
Quanta incorporates proactive safety management systems and occupational health processes to mitigate and eliminate incidents/accidents. To achieve our mission, all employees must demonstrate their ownership and commitment by placing the highest value on their health and welfare. Our goal is to lead, perform and operate in a way that preserves and protects the health of all employees and the environment. Quanta’s industry-leading safety programs demonstrate our commitment to our employees and their families. Our proactive safety processes and work practices are targeted to achieve our goal of zero injuries and safety excellence.
As a commitment to its employees’ health and wellbeing, Quanta has initiated two industry-leading programs: It’s Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program and Flame Resistant (FR) personal protective equipment program.
Quanta’s AED program provides employees in the field and in the office access to AEDs and training to enhance life safety response measures. Additionally, each Quanta employee who has the potential to be exposed to flames or electrical arcs are provided with FR shirts.
This commitment to raising the industry standards is evident in Quanta’s historical safety record.
Leadership in Safety:
As a recognized industry leader, Quanta helped to form the OSHA Electrical Transmission and Distribution Strategic Partnership. The partnership works to identify and evaluate health and safety hazards associated with electrical transmission and distribution work. The partnership – comprised of OSHA, electrical construction contractors, the IBEW and key trade associations – aims to reduce the number of fatalities, injuries and illnesses in the industry through implementation of best practices and collaborative training programs.
Training Tomorrow's Leaders: Safety Management Systems
As part of Quanta’s commitment to safety, the executive team initiated the Quanta Performance Management (QPM) program. QPM creates leaders in performance and safety and delivers exceptional value to our employees and our customers. The QPM process strives for excellence in safety and performance. Our ultimate goal is zero incidents and accidents in the work place.
